Cryotherapy at VAURA — Full Session Walkthrough

Cryotherapy is the cornerstone of recovery at VAURA Wellness, offering structured cold exposure designed to support physical and mental recovery. Extreme cold triggers vasoconstriction, followed by rewarming that restores circulation. During this process, endorphins, norepinephrine, and serotonin are released, supporting improved mood, energy, and reduced fatigue.

Whole-Body Cold Exposure Natural Neurochemical Activation Short, Supervised Sessions

Why Fully Electric Cryotherapy

VAURA uses 100% electric cryotherapy. No nitrogen gas. Here is why it matters.

VAURA Electric ChamberNitrogen Chambers
What you breatheSafe, oxygenated air throughoutCannot breathe inside — nitrogen displaces oxygen
What is exposedEntire body including head and neckBody only — head must remain outside
How it coolsRefrigerated air — uniform temperatureNitrogen vapour — colder at feet, warmer at chest
Nervous system activationFull — 70% of cold receptors are on head and neckPartial — head is not exposed to cold
Skin contactCold air only — no gas on skinNitrogen vapour contacts skin directly
Risk of burnsNonePossible from forced nitrogen vapour

Full-body exposure including the head activates a more complete nervous system response. This is why VAURA chose fully electric over nitrogen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cryotherapy hurt?

No. The cold is intense but manageable. Most guests describe a strong tingling sensation that becomes comfortable after the first 30 seconds. Staff are present throughout.

What is the difference between VAURA's cryotherapy and nitrogen chambers?

Most centres use nitrogen gas, which requires your head to remain outside the unit. VAURA uses fully electric chambers — the air is safe to breathe, the temperature is uniform, and your head and neck are included for full nervous system activation.

How often should I do cryotherapy?

For general recovery, 2 to 3 whole-body sessions per week. Athletes may benefit from daily sessions during intense training periods. Cryo skincare is recommended 1 to 2 times per week.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing to arrive in. All equipment, protective gear, and coverings are provided for every service.

Who should avoid cryotherapy?

Not recommended for individuals with uncontrolled hypertension, severe heart conditions, Raynaud's disease, cold urticaria, pregnancy, or active deep vein thrombosis. All first-time visitors complete a health screening.
