Safety & Screening
Your safety is our primary responsibility. Please read these guidelines before your session.
1. Mandatory Screening
All new clients are required to complete a health screening questionnaire prior to their first session. This questionnaire must be completed honestly and in full. Health screening is repeated if significant time has elapsed since your last visit or if you report a change in health status. Screening is a safety requirement, not a formality. It allows our trained staff to assess your suitability for each service and tailor your session appropriately.
Absolute contraindications that prevent participation include but are not limited to: pregnancy, uncontrolled hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, Raynaud's disease, severe cold allergy or urticaria, open wounds or active skin infections, recent surgery within the past 8 weeks, severe claustrophobia, and active cancer under treatment. If you are unsure whether you have a contraindication, please consult your physician before booking.
2. Cryotherapy Safety
Whole-body cryotherapy involves exposure to extreme cold temperatures between negative 85 and negative 110 degrees Celsius for a maximum of 3 minutes. All sessions are conducted under direct staff supervision. Clients must wear protective garments including gloves, socks, and face covering provided by VAURA. You must be completely dry before entering the cryosauna. Do not enter under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances. If you feel unwell, dizzy, or uncomfortable at any point, alert the supervising staff member immediately. The session will be terminated at your request with no penalty.
3. Red Light Therapy Safety
Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light in the red and near-infrared spectrum. It is non-invasive and generally well tolerated. Protective eyewear is mandatory during sessions. Clients who are photosensitive, are taking photosensitising medications, or have been recently diagnosed with conditions affecting light sensitivity must disclose this during screening. Sessions are limited to prescribed durations; longer exposure does not enhance results. Do not attempt to exceed the recommended session length.
4. Contrast Therapy Safety
Contrast therapy involves alternating between heat and cold environments. The thermal transition must be managed carefully. Do not remain in extreme temperatures beyond the guided duration. Stay hydrated before your session. Inform staff if you feel lightheaded, nauseated, or develop heart palpitations at any point. Clients with cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled blood pressure, or a history of fainting require additional medical clearance before using contrast therapy. Pregnant clients are not permitted to participate.
5. Right to Refuse Service
VAURA reserves the right to decline or terminate a session where our staff reasonably believe that participation poses a risk to the client's safety or wellbeing. This includes but is not limited to: clients who appear intoxicated, who are unable to complete the screening process, who refuse to follow safety instructions, or whose disclosed medical history indicates a contraindication. Service refusal on safety grounds does not entitle the client to a refund for services not rendered; however, VAURA will make reasonable efforts to reschedule at no additional charge.
6. Emergency Protocol
VAURA staff are trained in first aid and emergency response procedures. In the event of a medical emergency, our staff will immediately suspend the session, provide first aid, and contact emergency services as required. All clients are asked to provide an emergency contact number at the time of registration. VAURA maintains incident reporting procedures and will document any adverse events. Please ensure that you have disclosed all relevant medical information so that emergency responders have accurate health history if required.
